According to The Western Journal, riot broke out in Portland following the verdict on the murder of Derek Chauvin.

Randy Gray was arrested and charged with assaulting a police officer.

Gray has also been hit on 4 charges of misdemeanor, assault, harassment, disorderly conduct and criminal mischief.

Gray was released on bail the day after his arrest.

From the Western Journal:

It’s unclear who paid Gray’s bail, although it may have been the Portland Protest Bail Fund, which raised more than $ 1.3 million last year to keep bail out for violent agitators and anti-police criminals .

Portland businesses have been closing their doors and windows for a year, and the streets of the once picturesque city have become decidedly unsafe.

It’s a tragic, but not surprising, turn for the City of Roses after a long string of terribly inept measures by local and state leadership.

Portland City Council voted last year to cut police funding by nearly $ 16 million, but is now looking to put money back into the budget after a skyrocketing number of murders.

Portland’s KGW-TV said 2020 was a 27-year high in homicides for the city, and 2021 is well on its way to doubling that number, according to Willamette Week.
