Should I buy a Dog Bed or a Mat?
Should I buy a dog bed or mat?
People wonder what would be the best option for my dog to sleep on. When you go to the shop you come to the island to get the basics to sleep with the dog. You have the choice between dog beds and dog mats.
People often think that dogs don’t need beds, or dogs sleep on my mat in the living room and sleep at the end of my bed. Often times in an old movie you will notice a dog sleeping on a dusty old fireplace. What many of us may not know is that dogs actually need their own space to rest more than just a matter of comfort. As a human, it can be difficult for a person to sleep on a couch as it can get quite uncomfortable and cause a lot of joint problems, especially over long periods of time. While dogs are happy when people treat them with love and support, we just can’t let them in our beds (for many hygiene and training purposes). Like the adorable, loving children of ours when they first escape their cribs, it is tempting to snuggle up with them in our beds. However, this can lead to addiction problems later in life that we should avoid. Dogs and even cats are no different. Therefore, shopping for the right dog beds is just as important as shopping for anything else you might buy.
A dog bed has been specially designed to give them their own nest. A place they can call in your home to properly recharge. The beds are usually raised off the floor and offer a high level of comfort, which is essential for a restful, harmful sleep. Dog mats, on the other hand, or raised slightly above the ground, are useful for travel and camping purposes for temporary breaks during the day. While mats can be used as beds, those that don’t have a lot of cushioning, such as those with memory foam or higher density, are usually not ideal for 6 to 12 hours of sleep during the night. The idea is to provide as much comfort as possible in the form of a pillow to create a better feeling of sleep. A great option for a good or restful sleep is the Pet Life Nestler dog bed, which will help achieve a deeper, more restful sleep.
There are literally thousands of beds out there that could make choosing a purchase price even more cumbersome. So always make sure you get a feel for what your dog likes and what doesn’t. It is important to always familiarize them with different types of beds in shapes and sizes. Some dogs like to pick what they like by seeing what attracts them more first. It doesn’t hurt to lure them onto their beds with their favorite indulgence. What is most important is their comfort and sleep stages.
There are beds that are waterproof and designed for camping and travel, to beds that are even foldable and enclosed in all shapes and sizes. Try a few shapes and see what your dog prefers.
