From Fox News:

Sources initially told TMZ that DMX had a heart attack as a result of a drug overdose. However, this has yet to be confirmed. The rapper “Party Up (Up in Here)” is known to have previously fought drug abuse. According to the report, he last completed rehab in 2019 after serving a one-year prison sentence for tax evasion. At the time, the rapper claimed the rehab stay was not the result of relapse, but rather a preventative measure.

Stars Missy Elliot and Viola Davis were among the first celebrities to respond to the news on social media.

Davis also tweeted that she was “praying for DMX”.
